Oh... Look... another semi-recent video of #Police using #ExcessiveForce. Yet another #NYPD #Chokehold on a kid who is already handcuffed and defenseless. Oh, let me guess Cop was like Stop resisting!!! Please, save your hot cup of B.S for someone else. Not sure how I missed this one floating around. I thought the NYPD said choke holds were banned? Dont you dare try and justify this cops behavior. It doesnt matter what was happening before the video started. What matters is, the kid had his hands cuffed behind his BACK and he was being choked out by a cop, while another cop stood by doing NOTHING. What saddens me even more is that no-one watching this intervened and tried to prevent this cop from causing serious harm or death to this kid. In my personal opinion, there are situations out there, when individuals have a justifiable right to use self defense against a #cop. We dont know much about what happened and why the kid was cuffed, but this is CLEARLY excessive force, the kid was not a threat, he was DEFENSELESS. People shouldve stepped in, just like they shouldve stepped in for #EricGarner. Just think if one or two people stepped in and tried to pull the cop(s) off Garner, he may have changed the situation enough to make the guy let go of Garner and Garner would be alive. There is a DRASTIC difference between INITIATING force/ violence and using self defense. If YOU make the decision to use self defense on your behalf or someone elses towards a cop, you better make an immediate risk assessment and it would behoove you to make certain someone is filming, to provide evidence of what you did was justifiable. You dont even have to use force, you could use a restraint technique. Maybe there is a full video or article floating around about this particular incident. I want to be clear, I am not speaking for any admins on Virginia Cop Block or subsequent chapters and I am not speaking for Virginia Cop Block, because Cop Block is entirely decentralized and everyone is their own autonomous individual. - Nathan Cox
