Oh Lord, having animals is such a blessing and such a heartbreak all at the same time. As we have these days of cold and rain it is increasingly clear that my time with me beloved Braveheart is so very limited. I hate being a responsible owner and making these decisions!! His little heart and mind are so willing but his body is so broken that I know by the end of September we must part in this life. As I tuck him in for the night the realization that the cold and rainy season is coming all too fast and he will not be able to endure it. He taught me to trust again after the loss of my best friend Bannister. He taught my granddaughter and daughter to ride. I love him so and the pain is so great. I know what I must do and I pray for the strength for myself and my family when the time arrives. If you have ever love and lost, then you know how I feel. We still have some time and for that I am grateful and at the same time, knowing what must come to pass is so very painful. Each day, each scent, and every movement is a blessing. I will try to just enjoy what is borrowed and look forward to seeing him again. John 3:16
