Oh My Gish-Gosh!!! One more week! Found out that the movers will be here to pack us on Thursday and finish up on Friday...way to wait til the last minute guys! GAH!!! I spent the better part of the morning washing clothes and linens and sorting the clothes I would need for the next couple of months and what could be boxed up. Most of this was done while the guys slept and the house was nice and quiet...which meant that I was bound to get lost in my thoughts. How lucky and blessed we have been to live in a part of the world thats so full of early history. Ill never forget the fairytale-like castles I have visited; built as early as the 1400s, the time of Kings, Queens, Lords and Ladies. To walk in the courtyards and gardens and imagine what it must have felt like. Was it as grande to the people of that era as it is to me? Stepping into the Knights Hall in Rosenborg Castle and picturing the banquets that took place, was simply amazing. The ballroom at Fredericksborg Castle is splendid...you can almost imagine the very proper Lords and the Ladies in their elegant gowns keeping step to the band. Kronborg Castle, also know to many as Elsinore, was the setting of William Shakespeares famous tragedy, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. It was also this fortification that was besieged, attacked and conquered by a Swedish army, yet it still stands today. Christiansborg Castle was the setting of The Royal Affair, one of my favorite movies. These wonderful and beautiful places are all within a 30-50 minute train ride. I admit...I have loved every minute of living in a place where I am surrounded by the past, the history, and the what was....
