Oh boy- I got 9 according to Melissa Crawford Murphey. LOL so here goes: 1. I dated my husband for 8 years before I finally said yes. So glad he was a patient man. 2. I did not date in high school- it might have had something to do with the valedictorian thing. Not sure, just a guess. 3. I was the first female drummer (percussionist, actually) in Upstate New York. It caused a stink. I had to fight for it- the band director did not want me at first until he learned who my older brother was- a well-known drummer. All the guys in my grade that were going to be drummers quit because they were not going to play with a GIRL. 4. I would not have my husband or kids if it were not for my cat. True story. I came back from studying in Rome, Italy to find my best friend Misty, my almost 18 year old black cat, not doing so well. I could not leave her to return to the University of Dallas as planned. I stayed home that spring semester and ended up winning a Miss New York title, meaning that I had to stay in NY for a year. I met John at a part time job- Misty died the week that I met John. Its like she knew I found my new best friend. 5. I miss Misty 31 years later. 6. I taught French, Spanish and Italian; have been a waitress, a janitor, a professional model, a salesperson, a makeup artist and a limo driver. 7. I have major health problems, but I try not to let them define who I am. 8. I am finally getting my own horse after all these years of thinking I cant, I shouldnt, etc. etc. It is time to start living. 9. I am at the age where I am happiest- I love my husband, I love my kids, I love my family. I finally dont give a dam* if my house is not always immaculate because I have pets. I rescue animals and that is what makes me happy. I know I will never be rich, but I will go to my grave knowing I have made a difference at least in a few lives. To me, if I can leave this earth knowing I didnt just take up space, then my life was well-lived. :-)
