Oh goodie! I come home from work only to be bombarded with more negative campaigning. I am so sick of negativity everywhere I turn regarding this election. Its on tv, in the mailbox, hanging from my doorknob, stuck to my windshield and knocking on my front door. Whatever happened to a campaign where you advertised your own beliefs and values and your opponent advertised theirs? Why does it always have to come down to trash talking someone elses voting record to get ahead. Why cant politicians just say,this is what I believe. I just want to try and do the best job I can do for you. Vote for me. I was taught not to say anything negative about another person unless you could find 3 positive things to say first. I also learned it was wrong if your INTENT is to shine a less than favorable light on someone else in the hopes to make your star shine bigger and better. Isnt there a book entitled something like Everything I need to know about life I learned before kindergarten? Perhaps if we all tried to find our inner child and put into practice those simple truths our parents taught us, the world would be a kinder place. I am very thankful for my parents who taught me early on how to behave in public. Tonight I remember simple truths and wish for kinder times.
