Burmese migrant makes big-screen debut in Thailand: A Burmese migrant working odd jobs in Thailand was plucked from obscurity to star in a blockbuster film, premiering in Thai theatres on Thursday. Myanmar In Love In Bangkok tells the story of a Burmese migrant boat worker who falls in love with a young Thai woman. The directors stumbled upon the film’s star, Aung Nein Soe, while he was applying for a passport in Bangkok. The lucky 19-year-old got his big break after moving to Thailand three years ago.
