Oh gosh I so hate to come off as self indulgent and please pity me because that is NOT the intent of this post. I have addressed my thoughts about depression and addiction but I need to share some thoughts on suicide. Again what Im about to share is meant to assist in shedding some light on the mysteries of suicide. A fox reporter called Robin Williams suicide an act of coward ness. People are very angry at him (yes Im even defending a Fox News report hell may be freezing over lol) My mother suffered from severe depression and ended her life the same way Robin Williams ended his. Sadly she arranged for me to find her. On Mothers Day weekend no less. I was sad and then angry. I called her a coward. I asked how she could do this to my sisters and myself. With time I realized my mothers suicide was not about me. She had gone to such a dark place that she could not see. I forgave my Mom. My point is that grief is unique to each of us. Was Robin Williams a coward? No I dont think so but I understand those who are angry and think that he is a coward. Lets be kind to one another and continue a healthy dialogue on how to address this devastating disorder.
