Oh man was it an interesting day.... I learned something though, very interesting, but I definitely think it could go both ways. My assistant and I went to check on some bulls today and I decided I was going to take T (regardless how broke she is). Now as unintelligent as this sounds I made sure we had an anchor (pony horse) so I was somewhat safe. So Gabe rode Eli, whos helped me start colts before. Once we got their the ground was really bad so I knew if T was fixin to pitch it could be pretty harsh on both of us. Well I crawled up on her and as usual, right on time, she goes to unload. And I got her shut down cause were fixin to eat it due to the fact were on a slope and the ground is extremely slick. Now mind you everything in this area is on a hill and there really is no flat ground. So I un-track her some more and off we go. Than we have to go up a hill and down a steep bank and that stinkin horse goes to do it again but this time the ground gave way and we both went down but on the bright side when she got up she stopped thought about it licked and chewed took a deep breath and off we went yet again. All the while Eli and Gabe are keeping close by trying to help. When we finished checkin on the bulls we head out and go over by the corrals where now Im a bit irritated shes still tryin to pitch down the hill and its pouring rain. Im not a great rider and I dang sure aint no bronc peeler, but trust me its no easy doins trying to ride a horse thats pitchin down a steep hill. Anyways, we get to the corrals and I decide its time to school this pony, come to find out when shed try and buck I make her turn real sharp then drive her forward. And to my surprise she started paying more attention to where her feet where then trying to pitch! We got more done on the side of that mountain in the pouring rain than we have in weeks. Thank you Lord! But of course, with my outstanding chain of bad luck events, both my pickup and little trailer got stuck in the mud and had to go get the other trailer and thanks to my pa we made it out safe and sound. But now i have to wait a few days to get my pick up out..... Oh well, the Lord works in mysterious ways. I thought yall might like to hear about my adventure today ;) hope yall have a good evening, God bless. -Ob
