Oh my! I have been neglecting this little space of the internet lately! I missed a few days of school last week due to my son being sick and then I took an impromptu trip to visit my family in Prince Edward Island for the Thanksgiving weekend! Needless to say, updating my blog was low on my list of things to do. But now that I am back home and everyone in my family is healthy, it is time to get this blog rolling again! Meet Rudy, my VIP from last week. Rudy is a huge fan of locomotives! His interest in trains is so intense that he wants to become a train engineer when he grows up. In all my years of teaching, Rudy is the first student I have had who dreams to drive a train. It was a pleasant surprise to watch his face light up when talking about his passion for all things related to trains. His excitement brought a huge smile to my face! Rudy has probably been the busiest VIP yet! Not only did he have all the regular VIP duties, but he also had to help 2 substitute teachers the days that I was not there. Thanks for all your help last week, Rudy. Its good to know that I could count on you to help keep the classroom running smoothly while I was away!
