Oh my wackadoo dream life! From two unique ones this morning, even unique in my varied repertoire: ~ my mother (Louise) had written First-Age Tolkien fanfic about a ship of a variety of races and asked me to read it and edit ~ my sister (Karin) had borrowed my work laptop without asking and made a bunch of videos and recorded things while hanging out with my cousin (Amanda) and when I found out I went ballistic, yelling and screaming about how it wasnt my property ~ a former cat in my life, Sooty, was there and shredding tissue paper and wrapping paper. The house in this part of the dream was huge, with dozens of bedrooms, and the part where most of my dream took place was just a pigsty. I was cleaning and muttering loudly about how nobody was keeping things tidy. In the next dream, there was a truly dreamy aspect: I was in a mixture of what seemed like a LotR-esque real life environment in the woods, with (no kidding) a red-haired tribe of beings. Most of that dream has faded, but it included some work-centric things interspersed, including a cameo by Mike Kessen, who was my second boss at Vanderbilt. At the end prior to being woken up, Id wanted to visit this boat on the water but I had to be protected or Id be attacked (since Im not a redhead naturally) and so I was kissing this redhaired man with a trimmed beard and mustache. In the dream, somehow by having kissed one of the tribe, it would be my protection. Go figure. I started to kiss him then said, Oh! I still have my retainers in! (which in the dream, I did). He said that was okay. We kissed again and then I asked, Wait! Are you taken? No, Im Catholic, was his response. I think that part came because Im watching a Lifetime show about 5 young women who are in a 6 week discernment process about whether or not theyve been called to be nuns. Still-- pretty out there in my dream world, even for me.
