Oh my what an anniversary year celebration we are having! Words cannot do justice in describing a perfect lunch reunion in Momence with our dear friends Gene and Bette Dionne and their amazing children. You will not find a more loving and generous family anywhere. I proposed to my best friend Lisa Esh Strohauer at their French County Restaurant 25 years ago, after riding the motorcycle down there to check the place out. Saved my last bottle of concord red vintage 2012 to share for the occasion. This time our kids went with us! And just back from 7 amazing days camping at Lake Michigan. Plenty of campfires, beach, and movies/board games after dark. Jenny hung out with us the whole time, and Jesse a good share of the time. Jesse and I had our typical far-ranging theological and political discussions while wading along the shore and sitting atop the giant dune watching the sunset. And we were surprised upon our return with an anniversary dinner prepared by Lisas mom! Tomorrow will be tough though, have not gotten up before 9 am in 12 days. Namaste!
