Oh no, we lost our dear Chapina! But I am so THANKFUL she knew love and caring before she passed. Here is from her rescuer Lori..... Very difficult for me to talk about it, but Precious Chapina had FIP... her entire body was filled with fluid. Couldnt even see her organs on x-ray. Not sure I heard much of what the doctor said after looking at that! I noticed some puffiness in her belly… but no weight gain elsewhere leading up to that. She was up and down, with the downs being worse than the ups being positive. And when she ate, it became brief, stopping, then returning to eat, catching her breath. I noticed abdominal breathing and she was whimpering on and off and we went to the vet. Her gums became pale, she was anemic, and her body couldnt fight it. She was actually scheduled for an exam and thyroid levels. Never did I expect to come home without her and I still cant accept it. I feel awful guilt for complaining about my frustrations… knew something was wrong and felt helpless. Thank God I spent every moment possible with her… gave her as much love as possible, but it wasnt enough to help her, Ramona.
