Oh the fun with Asus continues. I just got off the phone with RMA support. The original call went in on Wednesday. I talked to support on Sunday. Got a follow up email on Monday. And today (Friday, 9 days after original call) I called to find out what was happening. There was no stock check done and none scheduled to be done (despite being told all 3 times I called or was emailed it would be within 24 hours). The result of the call? He told me stock check within 48 hours. Paperwork would take another 48. 1-2 days for final testing. And 1-2 days for shipping. So Im looking at almost 3 week turn around for an advance RMA. By comparison my last RMA with EVGA was an advance. I had the replacement card in my hands in 4 days. Im not about to yell at that particular customer service person (I know HE didnt do it). But I let him know that Ive always used Asus boards in my PCs and that my next build will be with an MSI. A 5 year warranty is pretty worthless (especially since I was paying a premium for Asus motherboards they run about 50-100% more than for only a couple more options than other boards) when a part that is integral to a computer cannot be RMAd in a timely manner. Especially with CPU sockets changing so often. I cant even buy a replacement board or upgrade a board that is compatible with my CPU. And buying a $270-330 CPU in addition to just replacing the board is out of the question right now.
