Oh wow, my sister challenged me to do this Bible challenge, but she didnt give me any instruction. I’m not generally persuaded by a challenge however I certainly couldn’t pass up a request to share God’s Word! I suppose the “challenge” is in picking JUST one favorite passage! If you know me well, you already know I’ll not be able to pick just one! Nor will I be able to keep my post short; try as I may, I just cannot! (or, perhaps I dont try well!) My consolation is this: God didn’t apologize for writing It so I’ll not apologize for posting It … and He doesn’t limit me to just one! I adore every Word of God, (even the hard ones) and my favorite at any given moment is usually whatever I am reading at that moment. But my never-fail, always-near, steady-go-to verses are these: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Psalm 121:2 My help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put their trust in him. Lamentations 3:22-24 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Isaiah 2:22 Sever yourselves from such a man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he? (Thats NKJV, and thats the one that caught my attention, NCV says You should stop trusting in people to save you because people are only human; they arent able to help you. Kind of harsh, but its a truth that is truly helpful in healing and directing your focus!
