Oil, Gold, Stocks? NO, COCOBOLO!!! Investing in today’s - TopicsExpress

Oil, Gold, Stocks? NO, COCOBOLO!!! Investing in today’s financial markets is as risky as sitting at a Black Jack table in Vegas. Everyone predicts the future, but the future never listens. One commodity that we should “listen” to, and that is commonly overlooked, are guitar tone woods. This is a finite resource subject to C.I.T.E.S. controls and not on the target list of the Central Banks. Brazilian Rosewood, as an example, has had a dramatic (and steady) increase in price to due regulations and scarcity and it’s not going down in price in the foreseeable future. Back and sides for a normal size acoustic guitar can easily top $1000 and higher. Mexican Cocobolo, the pretty red variety, is quickly moving on its way to the “Tone Wood Hall of Fame” alongside BRW. It’s available; however it keeps inching up in price. Decent size, good quality harp-guitar-size Cocobolo was around $45 a board foot last year. Now, it’s in the range of $80 to $100 depending on size, grain pattern, etc. I see no reason why it should follow the price decline of oil, gold and other coveted commodities. For 2015, my focus is to produce as many 21 String Harp Guitars with Cocobolo as possible before the quality harp guitar stock either dries up or C.I.T.E.S. locks it down like Brazilian Rosewood. Our yearly output is about 50 harp guitars. There is enough good quality, large-size Cocobolo for about 25-28 harp guitars for 2015. In addition, there will be around 20 Cocobolo Fanned Fret Guitars built this year. The additional price for a Cocobolo Fanned Fret – Harp Guitar is only for the raw material plus the shipping to the shop; no up-charge. What a deal! You’ll find all of the current information (updated frequently) and details for Fanned Fret – Harp Guitars on the home page at jaybuckey Photos: 2 new Cocobolo boards (front and back) that just arrived today and ready to be sliced up for harp guitars!
