Ok -- I have a problem. Other than Dawn detergent -- what else removes fresh crude oil from German Shepherds?? I mean -- my dogs SWAM in oil and every inch & hair strand was covered in oil --head to tail tip. Behind my land -- there is an oil well that was put in a year ago. It seems they now have a large holding pond of water 150x150 feet there, unknown depth -with about 3 inches of oil floating on top of the water. While I was working in the garden -picking more okra -- the shepherds went down to the creek ...as usual... to play in the water. They usually come back wet & muddy. This time, they must have went on the other property too because they came back oily and dripping in the crude. Oil everywhere -- the garage floor, driveway, sidewalk, under the trees, in the grass.... The clean will take over a week at least. Both dogs have already been washed in Dawn -- twice --- but they still have a coating of oil, less, but still there. What else can be used that help them?? Of course, this means the dogs can never be allowed to run, roam & have fun again. And, this being a migratory flyway for ducks and geese, Im certain that oil pond will collect a few birds. Really, those ponds should be illegal IMO. I was raised up in East Texas --- and I never saw giant oil ponds down there!! Imagine what damage they do to wildlife -- or neighborhood kids/pets who want to play in them! ~~
