Ok - I think it is getting to the time where I ask for feedback :/ (please be gentle! :) ) I am hoping to make over the chest in the first picture, into our new chicken coop. The second image is my artist interpretation of what it will look like closed The 2 middle drawers will be attached to the middle divider & pull out as one unit, for the human access door. The bottom Drawer will be lined & the floor of the coop, lined with straw etc, and will be pulled out to clean the cage.The top two drawers will be removed & replaced with chicken wire for ventilation (hoping they will be high enough for ventilation - but not breeze) The 3rd image is my artistic impression (relatively to scale) of what it will look like open. There will be a 3 tier roost on one side (attached to the back & lower divider) for the chickens at approx 5 intervals (and starting 5 above the straw line) a 12 roosting box (with sloped roof to deter nesting/roosting on the box - it will slope to approx 9 at the back of the box) And a curved 10 hatch door out the back of the cupboard which will go into an out door area - for the days they can not free range. Does anyone see any issues with this design? I believe in making do with what we have & cant actually afford to buy a chicken coop but think this will be doable for our 2 chickens. (It is 40.5 wide & 18 deep - approx 30 useable space high)
