Ok.... A cyclist just plowed into me on my bike (Im fine). I could beef about her waiting until the moment of impact to yell on yer left!, but instead, Im pretty pissed about our shitty excuse for developed country healthcare, because she was left bleeding on the ground, crying in pain, head spinning, and begging us to not call an ambulance, because, just like me, she had no insurance. An incident that could have been handled in a few minutes in many countries we consider inferior, with no concerns for payment, turned into a lengthy mentally agonizing experience for a woman who was already in physical pain. Damn this country is a big f-ing joke. And I can say that from experience, because EVERY surgery Ive ever had WITH insurance, has resulted in lengthy fights with insurers who wont pay, while my mom has had extensive surgeries with no hassles because she has nationalized healthcare (Medicare).
