Ok, Grandma isnt too well again suffering this time with a broken ankle after a fall. Its estimated she will be in hospital for over a week... As we all know when a loved one is ill (not only with a broken ankle) its tough! Grandma also suffers a number of other health issues and its extremely sad to see all these changes happening with her health. I remember being a kid, baking cakes with her and making all sorts in the kitchen (oh, and that time she tried to blend soup up and it flew out of the pan and covered her head to toe in the stuff!) .....my point is what?.... shes the lady that has brought a smile to everyones face, every day of her life! I appreciate everything she has done for me and all the memories we have shared -whether they have been sad, happy or celebratory! so, whats the point of this status? As you may have figured i appreciate EVERYTHING grandma has ever done for me and everything she continues to do (when she can) the sad thing is that all good things come to an end - Grandma is unwell now and takes a number of medications to try and keep on top of things - so i have to cherish the memories i have and remember that she isnt as up-beat as she once was and shes feeling the effects of it. Ok, lets cut to the chase... I know i keep mithering people for donations as i have 2 charity events this month (1 has already been) but this is the one that means the most to me! (HANG ON! dont stop reading....) This is the one we need a BIG push for! Chis, Mum, Dan and I will be attending a 10k walk for Alzheimers Society for Grandma on the 27th of this month (10 days from now). Just £50 will pay for someone with dementia to go to a Dementia Café session every week for a month, where they can meet others, share experiences and feel less isolated. And the more I raise, the bigger the difference it will make - I know that Grandma would love to attend something like this where she can get out of the house and socialise (something that she isnt able to do on a day-to-day basis). Please help out if you can, even £1, it all makes a difference! I need YOU to help me out!
