Ok I am finally home for a moment and I know many of you were - TopicsExpress

Ok I am finally home for a moment and I know many of you were waiting to hear how things went. We (a few leaders/parents) went to the Girl Scout shop this morning and spoke to CEO Lize Luttgens, we had been misinformed that she would be in the shop all day, she was only going to be there for about 30 min however there was another woman that was running the office. Lize was nice and her and David sat down with us to hear us, I honestly do not feel they expected us to have reacted as we did. We explained that it is unacceptable to not have a store in the antelope valley, we expressed our anger and frustration over losing Paula and Melinda. we also voiced our frustration at the lack of programs in the antelope valley, our girls sell cookies and where does it go? At this point what was accomplished was this, they are planning a meeting to hear those of us who would like to be heard, David is suppose to be getting back with me today on the details on when that will be. They are going to work on finding a way to get a shop open in some form up here for us. Some of us volunteered (I know I know we just cant say NO!) to help in the office, with the shop, with new volunteers etc. We all agree that the AV needs more, that we deserve more. So at this point we are awaiting info on the meeting to discuss what needs to be done, we are getting things rolling for our recruitement night next week and we are hopefully going to make some improvements. We (leaders) have NOT given up on finding a way to get Paula and Melinda back but we are trying to keep positive.
