Ok, I am going to post my rant for the week, and It will probably kill every chance I will ever have to perform in these places. BUT since I am a woman who has never been accused of picking the least amount of collateral damage in a fight...here goes. If you are going to one of these mega churches....all the smoke, lights, experience enhancing churches...Do you really think that is the best usage of half a million dollars? It sickens me to know that there are little bitty ole churches who are sincerely broke, and becoming even more broke because they are the ones who are emptying their coffers to help the poor, hungry, homeless. To keep electricity from being cut off, van payments made when times get rough. Yet, these other churches are building and building, and getting concert style sound systems, paying musicians, smoke and lights, yet they make you jump through hoops to get help, or turn you away because they dont see your need, and or you work in a vocation that they dont agree with. I dont see God in any of that. I see pride, vanity, and the love of numbers. God loves you, and he puts fresh air, love, and people in this world for you; He, His love IS THE EXPERIENCE... there is no reason, to have to go to a place, that artificially manufactures a God experience for you. To take your tithes, and instead of helping others, holds on to it... and acquires treasures here on earth. ***REMEMBER the church is the PEOPLE, not the building!*** I am sorry if I have offended you, but if the shoe fits......
