Ok, I need to talk to the Ruger Guy. Lol!! Seriously, I have been carrying the Ruger .380 LCP for a while now. I am a member of some online firearm forums, and for some reason I have noticed that some of the gun gurus are saying that .380 JHP is a waste of money. That if your going to carry a .380 for self defense, that the best round to use is a FMJ. Because of penetration. They are saying that there is not a .380 JHP that will penetrate enough to stop a threat. And that a FMJ will penetrate just enough to cause critical damage and might stop a threat, and there are no worries of over penetration. I have carried a variety of .380 JHP. In this pic I have from L-R Hornaday critical defense 90gr JHP, COR BON 90gr JHP, Winchester 95gr JHP, and Aguilla 95gr FMJ. Just wondering if I can get some feedback to what Im hearing? And which cartridge out of these 4 would you trust in a defensive situation? Thanks a lot. Tim Guy any and all input is welcome.
