Ok .. Now that the Herald has sparked off the debate for NZs highest earning sportsman .. Heres my thinking on the top dogs - Russell Coutts number one by daylight .. Remember he got a $50 million bonus for winning the Americas Cup with Oracle. - Brad Butterworth cant be discounted either .. Although not currently with a team , his salary with Alinghi was rumoured to be over $10 euros per year - Scott Dixon would be in the top five .. - as would Winston Reid - Brendon McCullum would be up there too . IPL deal, plus all his endorsements , lamb exporting business, horse racing ventures , cric hq business and thats not even factoring in his NZ cricket earnings - Jonah Lomu : dont forget him.. Still on a significant Adidas deal and he gets paid a truck load speaking at gigs all over the world - Levi Sherwood .. Freestyle motor cross rider .. Hed be earning millions too.
