Ok.. So besides giving birth & everything cancer related to my body, I completely lost any dignity I had tonight. I took Beckett to the river.. its a nasty 97° out, Im sweating like crazy & with my tank top being a nuisance, I take it off. Thinking that one of those awesome lemonades from Wendys sounds amazing. I head there with the assumption, Im just going to the drive thru, who needs a tank top in the drive thru? Beckett & I get there & I order my lemonade. I forgot to mention that it is extremely windy out. My window is down for ordering, Becketts window is down, simply for her pure pleasure of being a dog. Several cars pull up behind me. I hand the gentleman my money & a gust of wind comes by. I have tons of papers go flying out the window, one most importantly being my mileage sheet for work, so I can get reimbursed, & the other, a card from my Aunt Dottie & her congregation. The gentleman working asks Was that important? With someone behind me & being too close to the window to utilize my door, I only do what one rational person should do. I dont think twice about it. I put my car in neutral with the e-brake on, I climb across the car to the passenger side, & open the door. BIG MISTAKE. Beckett takes off, Im in my shorts and a sports bra running frantically, trying to grab my papers & wrangle in my 75lb dog. If I was 35 lbs lighter this wouldnt be an issue. I finally catch her, put her in the car, and I climb in, via the passenger side door. I stumble over the stick shift & finally get my lemonade. (Ahhhhh) The moral of this story... Heat is temporary, humiliation is forever.
