Ok. The CDC is not competent in this. I am not a fear monger but we are NOT ready for this everyone. We had a suspect patient last night. A EMS driver with fever, diarrhea and vomiting. The protocols were NOT followed because they were confusing and nobody wanted to take charge. Well yall know me... Anyway the charge nurse ( THE CHARGE NURSE!) decided he was ruled out because he didnt meet the criteria posted by the CDC. The CDC version for criteria says possible healthcare workers who worked with EBOLA patients are NO... I repeat... NO risk. So even if this guy was positive for Ebola ( we will never know) he was released because the diagram said he was OK. It is terrifying to me because we are not using our brains, but using a flow diagram to protect the public. That is what happened here with them telling the nurse to fly. She called the CDC and some guy answered the phone, looks at a flow chart and determines shes OK to fly because health care workers are NO risk. Yall better start calling your political reps or this is going to be effecting your state soon.
