Ok. Yall know Im usually 0% PC.. but heres some free advice: dont put indian anywhere in your band, song, or record title unless its specifically about either native peoples or persons from India. Also.. being told you have a native american princess somewhere in your lineage at a family reunion does not make you native and thus is not permission to inappropriately use this term. (This exact story has been told to every other child who grew up in the south- It is a common family folk tale.) Its not always racist to do so.. but generally speaking it is almost certainly always stupid. If you need to have a litmus for okayness of possible naming using this term try the following; insert/substitute black or mexican or really any people group into the phrase you are contemplating.. did it become racist or offensive? If so, the truth is that it didnt become anything - it already was. And now for a lighter side of the same coin..here is an example of a totally excellent use that I whole heartedly love and support. :)
