Ok all of my family, friends and prayer warriors....didnt get the answers I was hoping for today but I do love Dr Kasbari! Let me back track, if I may, for those that dont know. Ive been diagnosed with EG junction cancer (bottom of esophagus leading into the stomach). This is a rare cancer (1 person In 100 will ever have it). My pathology threw a curve ball too...2 types of cancer cells present (squamous and adenocarcinoma). Nothing easy about me! But God made me unique! ;) I, so, did not want to have to have the surgery (esophagectomy) but that appears to be the route we have to take. Im still praying for stage 1 but if it is past that - the esophagectomy is a must! Chemo and radiation are also possible but one more test will have to be done before we know. So, Im headed to Duke to meet the surgeon next week, hopefully! I will post more later but for anyone with untreated refux - please, please, please have an upper endoscopy. I have been satisfied with Tums for years not knowing the damage being done. I love you all and I cherish the prayers. My specific prayer is that, although Dr Kasbari is a little doubtful, that this is stage 1. If it is then a less invasive surgery can be done. Please keep the prayers rolling...wear/display your purple and believe with me!!!!
