Ok folks. Here is what Paula Dean is actually guilty of...being cheap and stupid. In most cases a civil law suit like the one she was involved in would be settled out of court and the plaintiff would sign a agreement to not reveal the nature of the case or the settlement. Instead Paula or her lawyer chose to fight the case. And then it was revealed what she had said in testimony. A public figure with a reputation to protect never should have gone to court to fight such a case. So she was either cheap stupid or took some really bad legal advice. Settling out of court might have cost her maybe 100K. But not the 20 million it will cost her in the long run.
