Ok folks I am not a poet nor claim to be, but wanted to try my hand at a tribute to my mentor and teacher Raymond McCallum. Love ya Brother. The Raymond I know So determined for greatness, so full of life, Not chasing a trophy but determined to fly. A warrior from birth a master of battle Never following blindly like the rest of the cattle. Loved by many and hated by some Always ready to face a challenge whenever it comes. A free spirit not caught in the hamster wheel like most Living in the moment , not tied to a post. Respectful of tradition but constantly seeking to grow Leaning on the edge and riding the flow. Inspired to share and anxious to teach, He may never know how many he has reached. My mentor, my teacher, my brother for life, Dear to us all my kids and my wife. When he is gone and greatness has past I will always remember his knowledge so vast. Those who don’t know him can only marvel at his fame But us who love him know he will be forever the same. True to his beliefs and his love of the art Raymond is the beginning , the end and the start. Address him as Grandmaster and soon you will know, He’s not in it for the fame just loves the show. No stripes on his belt, or bragging from his lips Just a battle strong warrior who will gamble all the chips.
