I was mindlessly scanning the newsfeed and happened to watch the plane that landed at LAX with the landing gear turned sideways....Suddenly I bust into tears...quite shocked...that plane has no one that i know of on it. .....so....today, Im missing my grandmother....and the bridge she maintained between my hot-shot pilot father, and me. I think im done striving for relationship with a person who would rather i didnt exist. Fact is Yah made me exist... but the woman who always told me stories so vivid of a grandfather i never knew, told me about my Dad, what he was like, connected so much that lacked in my growing up years, her i miss. Long days sitting in the garage, watching the wildlife, talking about anything that came up. What came to mind as I asked Abba what the sudden tears are about, is the day she told me that my father wrecked a plane. He was flying Bush out of Nome at the time and loaded to the hilt with kerosene, headed to the villages. the single prop engine died....too heavy to glide, it dropped like a rock out of the sky...he walked out of that with a few acid burns. I dont know this man...I know of him...I knew his mother....a kind woman who was adventurous, had thrilling life stories, as she had traveled the world, and loved me in spite of my broken self...i have often said of her that she is the reason i turned out anything good....I miss you Gram.
