Ok folks. Ive been thinking about whats going on in the Ukraine. Why didnt the UN come up with an intelligent plan instead of trying to revive the Marshall doctrine? If I was head honcho I would have said OK, a vote to seperate is the voice of the people, IF it is a fair vote. We need a list of every polling place. We are going to send election observers. If it is a fair and honest vote why not? Seriously, if 80% of the populous came out to vote and freely voted 93% in favor of joining Russia, THAT IS DEMOCRACY! The question is how fair and free was the vote. We could have sent observers to vouch for the facts. If the vote was legit, then as far as Im concerned, have at it. On the contrary, if we are saying a vote doesnt count because we dont like the outcome, we are being faschists ourselves. If those stats are true then it is a more clear cut decision by a bigger portion of the population that decided to secede and join Russia than any president we have elcted in the US since Eisenhower. Based on international stance in the west I want to petition the UN and EU to sanction the US until Obama resigns. Fewer people by turnout and percent of turnout voted for him. With the anti-commie rhetoric from the cold war era, the piss poor modern educational standards, and media brainwashing, it is easy to forget what democracy is. If the vote was legit, do the split! Too bad the EU, UN, and US are taking their positions based on economic (self centeted) and influence instead of the basic democratic principles. If they were interested in preserving democracy and freedom they would have negotiated observers to make the vote transparent. Instead they are too focoused on getting their way. There could be more to the story, but if you dont live in Crimea ir work in the guts of the CIA, you dont know either way. I say the west blew a chance!
