Ok, friends. A little help here, please. My hair is falling out now. Not in chunks and droves, but enough that I can tell that Im not going to be one of those fortunate ones who dont lose their hair, and by my next chemo round on 10/15, it will be falling out in chunks and droves. Im scared every time I go to brush my hair, wondering, is this the day it starts? Thats just so much fear to be living with that I think its time, maybe by this weekend, to cut it off to donate to locks of love, then just shave it. I am really scared to shave it. No one knows if I have a good looking head or not, I was even born with a full head of hair, so Ive never been bald. Of course, its pretty ridiculous because I wasnt a bit afraid of having my breasts cut off, but then again, they were trying to kill me. My hair never did anything wrong. So, in your wonderful ways, can I get some words of wisdom and support? Also, Im going to need hats and scarves. I dont know how many, enough to last the next 9 months or so til my hair grows in some. I dont want anyone to buy anything new, but, if you have a hat in your closet that you thought was a good idea at the time, but maybe it wasnt; and if you want to get rid of it, private message me, Ill give you my address to mail it. Any hats/scarves I dont use or I dont need when Im through this, (and lets face it, I may never wear another hat again after this), Ill donate to a hospital or something for other chemo patients. Soft materials without scratchy bits will be best, and silk scarves arent necessary because they slide.
