Ok has anyone ever made you mad? My guess would be at some point and time the answer would be yes. Let’s take a look at it this way. When a rattlesnake gets ready to strike you sometimes get a warning by its rattle and sometimes not. Anger is a lot like the rattlesnake and its venom. Sometimes you can see anger coming and sometimes it is sneaky by slipping itself into your thought process or by means of an action or word expressed towards us in a manner unfitting to us. For an example you’re driving down the road and all of the sudden someone cuts you off so that they can get to the off ramp to the mall. At that time we feel the snake bite and the venom of anger courses through our veins. We then have a choice to become angry. We can stop this by taking every thought captive as in (2 Corinthians 10:5). When we allow the anger or venom of anger to penetrate the heart death can occur physically and spiritually. The bible also says in (Romans 12:1-2) We can renew our mind by taking God’s word daily and applying His promises to our lives. Anger can make the best of hearts harden. If we continually store anger in our heart it will eventually come out of our mouth as in (Matthew 12:34). Holding on to anger is like deadly venom to our body, mind, and spirit. Today let God take what you don’t need and let Him fill you with His fruit of the spirit. Be refreshed and renewed by the love of the father.
