Ok here is my rant/vent..This is a copy and paste of a comment from here on a Truckers Safety Week post>> Truck drivers are reckless and dont care about the cars on the road , they think they own the road Being that my husband has been driving truck for nearly 18 years and I have ridden with him a little over 2 years, I was irate and posted facts about truck drivers etc. Personally I think the public is VERY ill informed on the trucking industry,rules,regulations etc AND dont think of truck driving as a job..being reckless etc at truck driving is like you going to work and doing things wrong on purpose, they need their jobs just as much as anyone else and MOST not all follow the guidelines etc to keep their CDL license because no license means no job. With that said, people need to be educated more about how to drive around big trucks because big trucks have many more blind spots than passenger cars, some trucks have yellow stickers on the rear of their trailers that reads If you cant see my mirrors then I cant see you and that is 100% true. People think trucks can stop just as quickly as their car and that is so not true, a tractor trailer going 60mph takes appx the length of a football field to come to a complete stop. If people looked at statistics of passenger car/tractor trailer accidents they would see that most times it was the passenger car at fault. Ok I am done, enjoy the rest of your evening :)
