Ok,ok, so during the downtown event tonight at the store one of STRANGEST situations occurred. I have been doing the downtown event for years, and it is always fun greeting and meeting with people. This was by far the oddest thing that has ever happened to me during the event. A fellow and his family came in and we were pleasantly chatting about their passion for collecting antiques, in this case Fenton Art Glass. After conversing for some time the chap suddenly says rather secretively So do you want to see what we REALLY like to collect? I replied in the affirmative, and to my surprise he begins to REMOVE HIS CLOTHS! Off comes the coat, and he begins peeling off the outer sweater vest he is wearing....and as if my shock wasnt deep enough, he turns around with the sweater pulled up to his neck, and there are small SQUIRRELS clinging to his back!!! These little guys were cute as hell...so soft...and were scurrying around on his BACK...Apparently they are a type of flying squirrel from Australia, and they bond to people so much so that they will not jump off of them unless it is to another person they are bonded to! He and his wife take the little pets out all the time, and they scurry up and down his sleeves, around his back, into his pockets, and will go to sleep there...They are fond of Kitchen Cooked Potato chips and McDonalds French fries! I took a video of this, and of one of them flying between his daughter and himself...I did not think anyone would believe me otherwise...this is why I like being a small town jeweler...LOL...gonna write a book like James Herriot I swear...Small Town Gems Ill call it...I will name names...so be nice to me...
