Ok one more hurdle to go. John will go in for another surgery tomorrow morning called PERCS which will be aimed at lengthening heel cord and some minor hamstring release. This will enable him to walk with a close to normal heel strike instead of his tip toe method of walking currently. It is a 1 hour procedure and he is in for only that night. We were really hoping to be able to avoid a second surgery for John, however the experts have explained that it will be best for John to have it done now to maximise the SDR surgery. Dr Dobbs is the man for the job and works closely with DR Park and his team. In fact all of the therapists we have seen agreed that this is the best option and gives us great confidence that this is the right thing to do. So fingers crossed one more time and well keep you posted tmrw on it all.
