Ok, so Im driving Aramanthra to work downtown and I exit off 35 and I catch the red light at 10th St. So heres the scene - Im in the left lane two cars back from the intersection. At the intersection is a homeless guy holding up a cardboard sign. I see a flash of light and I look to my right and noticed that the guy driving the 2012 Mercedes e350 has put on his left turn signal and wants to merge into my lane. Silly man. That just does not happen out here. All that turn signal means is that everyone can drive past that guy with full smugness knowing for a fact that he was denied what he wanted for not planning that turn eight miles back. So Mr. Corp in the Mercedes tries in vain to make eye contact with his fellow commuters. No go. And I watch him go through the process of assessing the situation. And then I see the smile creep across his face. When the cross light turns yellow he rolls down his window, scoops up some pocket change and holds it out for the homeless guy. The homeless guy runs over grabs the change and thanks him for being a wonderful human being. Our light turns green, the homeless guy heads back to his corner, blocking the guy in front of me in the process. Mr.Corp takes advantage of this and merges into our lane and drives off on his merry little way. Im left with two thoughts: 1) I am shocked, *shocked*, that a guy in an expensive suit and behind the wheel of a $50k car would use a fellow human being in such a fashion. 2) You, sir, are an a-hole. But by God that was some pretty damn slick thinking on your part...
