Firstly, modern medicine is just that - MODERN, I dont remember the exact date, help me, ms Lynn, the 1950s? Secondly, the bychemicals that are in supplements are also in your friggin foods: for example apples & rice both contain deadly chemicals (arsenic? Cyanide?). Do you honestly think the imported food from a third world country is seriously going to regulate their environmental poisons? Shit, that cannot even make toys safely. Third, the side effects that are listed for certain supplements in the article are generally high doses and extended consumption. Ffs, think about this - you can actually die from a vit c overdose... yes, that fun yummy flavoured chewy vitamin to take when you are sick. Fourth, the human populace would have ceased to of excited if it wasnt for alternative or even ancient medicines... trial and error. Finally, back to modern medicine, it is a science. Now, what do we know from common knowledge of science? Trial and error. On going research. Hypothesis. What is good for the goose, inst necessarily good for the gander, or even the next gander, but maybe for the third gander. Now with that said, let me give my personal two cents. Whatever forms of medicine you believe in, albeit prayer, ancient, alternative, modern, hands on, energy healing, etc., dont discount another form of medicine. Because if one type doesnt work, there are other ways. Every disease, bacteria, and virus for the most part react the exact same in the body, but with different chemical makeups, blood types, rh neg/pos, and a skewed dna and abnormalities (not to mention evolving strands of the illnesses), sometimes it takes a second form to combat the illness. And yes, some alternative / ancient remedies have been proven to work. Just use commonsense and dont be stupid. Even with modern medicine, do your research before taking that little pill a doctor shoved in your hand...
