Ok, so heres the thing for us Ducks, and in particular us #UteDucks. While I am the most confident in the Oregon team this year. -more so than ever. Urban Meyer provides a unique challenge and a most satisfying opportunity. As Ducks, despite our recruiting depth, we have some personnel problems. We lost our all American cornerback. Weve had these recent suspensions from some archaic policy. And weve had a different offensive line set almost every game. But we are hungry. For Utah Ducks who had any affinity for or with Utah prior to the #Pac12, we remember Urban Meyer. The Urban Meyer college football revolution was not exceeded until Chip Kelly. But #UteDucks also remember the way Urban left Utah. Instead of arguing for a national title for the undefeated 2004 Utes, Urban signed with Florida BEFORE the BCS bowl selection, granting the BCS the out it wanted allowing a relegation of Utah to the Fiesta Bowl playing irrelevant Pitt, instead of mixing it up with one of the other 3 undefeated teams. It left a bad taste, that was recalled in 2009 when Utah was once again denied a national title, although Whittinghams Utes were the only undefeated team in the land, beating Alabama worse than Urbans BCS champion, 1-loss Florida. (Note: this was the only time in the history of college football that the ONLY undefeated team was denied at least a share of the national crown. Further that year: Utah won at Wyoming; Wyoming won at Tennessee; Tennessee won at Ole Miss; Ole Miss won at Florida) So I am absolutely jacked up for the Ducks in Dallas. (A Dallas Rose Bowl- #Pac12 v. #Big10) A chance to revenge ourselves over the loss to the Buckeyes 4yrs ago. And for the few proud #UteDucks a chance to settle an aching sore. But Urban is tricky. He was special teams before Chip Kelly perfected it. Remember Utahs hook n ladde? - the reperfection of the Utah shovel pass? Whats up his sleeve? I LOVE MY DUCKS! Mari- OOOOOOOOO-ta! But Im anxious.
