Ok so in case you didnt know September is Hispanic National Heritage month. So I go to a lil fiesta and some gentlemen say out loud as if I couldnt hear them, What a beautiful Spanish woman. Ok for those of you that know me you know what happened next. For those that dont, let me tell you. First of all I went up to them and reminded them its rude to stare. I thanked for the compliment but let them know I am not Spanish, I speak it, but am not that. I am a MexiCan and proud of it. That spanish thing is absurd. I learned the difference in kinder. We dont need recognition or validity from anyone. Because we do that on our own. Ive been kind of nostalgic because I miss my abuelita, my aunts, my little sister, my family period. But you better believe that a Mexican somewhere is going to reach out and make me feel like part of their family so I wont be alone. I love that about my people. And it will be appreciated immensely. Ok am full and content. Hold your head high and be proud of who you are and love it. And when you dont, your little MexiCan friend will be right here. Hugs....besitos y mucho , mucho AMOR.
