Ok so in light of the recent situation that hits so many so close to home I must address something that annoys me. Ive seen so many posts about people praying for terrible things to happen to Chad Hurst for what he has done. Or to be more politically correct what he has been accused of doing. As a Christian I find this relatively offensive. To pray for justice and peace over the family and friends of the victims makes perfect sense to me and it is something we all should be doing as believers. I am no scholar but I am certain that God doesnt answer prayers of butt rape and multiple stab wombs. The bible tells us to love our enemies and pray for those that persecute you. Matthew 5:43-48 Through out it reminds us to forgive others as God has forgiven us. Forgive to be forgiven.(Matthew 6:14-15, Luke 6:37,Colossians 3:13, Ephesians 4:31-32,Mark 11:25) I am not saying that I am so noble that in the heat of the moment if this were my friends or family that I would not be mad, hurt, and angry but I would like to think I would have sense enough to refrain from doing it in the name of Jesus! It also tells us that to leave it to the wrath of God vengeance is mine I will repay says The Lord dont repay evil for evil. (Romans 12:17-21, 1 peter 3:9, proverbs 24:29, 1 Thessalonians 5:15) God owns the right to any vengeance. To take any vengeance ourselves is to steal from God. He knows and watches everything. He provides perfect justice. I have enough faith in God to know he will do what is right in every situation whatever it maybe. Bitterness only hurts ourselves. Lets leave the judging up to God and pray for all they families and friends affected by this tragedy.
