Ok, so its April 9th, 2014. 6 calendar months from my surgery, 26 weeks all up. Today we were back to see Heather Cleland the plastic surgeon to check Shirls progress. All good news, she is doing really well, has settled well. Redness has reduced again, and will do so even more in the next 6 months. She did mention again the option for me to have more extensive surgery done after the 12 month mark. At this stage it would be purely cosmetic, so I am 90% sure I wont be going ahead. ( 10% of me has no idea what I will think in another 6 months. ) She also suggest some less invasive measures, for example, some injections of fat into the sunken part of Shirl ( insert all the lines you can think of!!, but I am running with, as long as its from the place I need to lose it most! ) anyhow, will find out more about that later on. She has asked to see us again in 4 months. From the previous posts today you will all see that Matthew & Nikya were with me today, they got to meet the awesome surgeon who removed my malignant growth, that was a happy moment for me, because in the room with me was 3 of the 4 people I could not have done this without. ( Tiarn was visiting friends ) We also showed her the book Matthew published for me for my birthday, and I am so proud to say she was very impressed with it all. Thanks again Matt! Well it wouldnt be a proper Shirl update without a photo right! So here is a selfie of the two of us..
