Ok, so there is good news and bad news to report: Bad News: We lost to a division rival again this week and dropped our record to 3-5. Good News: Detroit upset Dallas (now 4-4) with like 1 minute left in the game, so our 1st place deficit is still only 1 game. It would have been 2, had Dallas won today. We *must* start winning games, even the tougher ones against Detroit, GB, and Chicago, and our division games are proving to be of even greater importance. The wildcard is likely not coming from the NFC East, and even more importantly to consider, the Giants and the Redskins are starting to come around. QB Analysis- 8 Quarters, 3 pocket QBs, and only 10 points to show for it on this Chip Kelly offense that we have seen work very well [with Vick and some Foles]. Notice I said pocket. We *NEED* that run threat from the QB. We need the read-option. Our offense cap-sized when Vick pulled his hammy and we lost our QB run-threat (aside from that Tampa Bay game). Nick Foles is still a promising QB. You cant count him out after one bad game (likely playing with a groin injury, affecting his passing). Is he the best option? Hard to say, but my opinion is its still a healthy Vick. Vick pulled himself from the game early, and rightfully so. With his injury and his limit to the pocket, we showed with 3 different pocket QBs, that were not very good at executing this offense without a run threat. I say pocket QBs because Vick was also limited to the pocket today, and only scampered to avoid a costly sack. Need: Michael Vick healthy and running, and possibly a running QB in the draft if we want to take full advantage of our offense. With Vicks injury roller coaster, we need running QBs at depth. Defense: Played well. They werent explosive like last week, and didnt force any turnovers, but I gotta say, its refreshing. What are your thoughts? -Brandon
