Ok sooo. I need some advice. I know labor laws pretty well but I know there is a gray area for minors on min wage. I know statute 23 chapter 30 sections 155-258 in the Louisiana covers child labor laws. I also know that LA is on of 20 state where federal min wages is governed. I know a store that is paying their Teen employees 5.00 an hour CASH. telling them that this is the same as if they were getting taxes removed. (Not a fact Jack) Someone is pocketing 2.25 an hour from these kids. Ok so here is my question, Is there a time/job where less than min wage can be paid? I need to know the Statues number and section. I am only asking this bc there is a section under statute 23 that states employees under 20 can be paid less than min but I am unclear on the limits/laws on that statue. Thanks!
