Okay - heres the full scoop! From the MRI done on Dwains shoulder several weeks ago it appeared that his rotator cuff had torn again. Dwain had been in a lot of pain for several months. Just a couple of weeks prior to surgery his arm/shoulder quit hurting, so Dwain thought it had probably torn completely. Dwain had been concerned that if that was the case it was beyond repair. Last Friday the surgery center had called to go over surgery day and had said that normally that procedure takes 1 1/2 hours but due to a redo it adds another 30 minutes to the procedure so expect two hours for sure. After one hour Dr. Prohaska comes strolling out. My first thought is not good news - but to Dr. Prohaskas amazement and our as well, it had not torn at all and was in perfect shape. Dr. is not sure what was causing the pain but he said he did do some maintenance - removed a bone spur, removed a surprising amount of scar tissues and some stitches from his previous surgery that did not dissolve. We truly were in shock at first but really excited by the time we got back home. That being said - it will still take about 6 weeks to be totally back to normal but thankfully not six months like we feared. God is good!!! And your prayers were greatly appreciated!!!
