Okay.....After a post from a Realtor friend, I have just remembered another crazy Realtor story. This house was in Maryville, it was a foreclosure and I was officially taking it over. This is where I gain possession of the house and it my first visit to the house. I always try to take my wonderful husband with me because you never know what you will encounter when you first take possession of a house. Now you all know what he really gets to do in his spare time for fun (he would say NOT). We walk in the living room, then to the kitchen. I started laughing and say....WOW....this one gives new meaning to the term....they took everything but the kitchen sink! Heck...they even took the kitchen sink on this one! Imagine standing there and the whole kitchen is gutted and empty like in a new construction. I take pictures and move to the next room. Very curious at this point what is missing from the next room. I knew I had to see the bathroom because Im wondering if they even stole the bath tub. The bathroom was stripped except for the tub. I take pictures and continue moving to the next room. I get to a room off of the back. It would maybe be a sunroom or something. I looked down and there is a large doorway cut in the floor. Surrounding the door are these little red spots. They were about 1/2 the size of a dime. I yelled.....oh my God Jason....dont move! He comes and asks whats wrong. I said, theres blood all over the floor! They killed someone and threw them in the cellar! He looks around and said, Frankie they have not! Im still looking and the splatter was just around largest side of the door that opened. I told him I was sure they had and explained the blood only by the side of the door that opens. I told him we better not move because we didnt want to disturb the crime scene. I informed him I was calling 911 right then because our finger prints were now in the house and I didnt want them thinking I did it. I explained to 911 what happened and told them I would wait outside. I really just wanted out of that house. The police arrive and ask what is wrong and what happened. I told them the whole story, told them we didnt touch the blood splatter and we didnt go down in the cellar. I told them I had walked through it, but I didnt know and didnt mean to. When we get to the room with the cellar door in the floor, I showed the cops the blood splatter. I explained that I saw on TV how different type of splatter, different sizes of blood spots and the direction meant different things like how close, etc. I told them I tried my best not to disturb the crime scene, but I had actually walked through it because I didnt know. However, I had not opened the cellar door. The cops looked at me like I was a retarded creature. They said, honey...this is varnish. I looked at them and squinted my eyes like what....Ive just found the biggest crime scene in your history as a policeman and your telling me its varnish! They could tell I obviously didnt believe them. I told them I wanted them to check down in that cellar because I didnt want to try to sell a house with a dead body in it. I also didnt want anyone thinking I had killed whoever it was. The police open the door and go into the cellar as I followed. Jason stayed up top in another room. Guess what....the cellar was clean and dry as a whistle! The police took me back upstairs and explained to me that I needed to stop watching so many cops shows and leave the police work to the professionals! Jason stood in another room and glared at me with one of those Youve made an idiot out of yourself and I dont want them to think I was involved because I told you so looks!
