Okay Elyse here are 9 things you probably dont know about me. Like this post and youll get to carry on the tale-telling. 1. I was in the smart class in 7th grade because my language skills were off the charts. But I got moved out of that class in 8th grade because all of the questions on the algebra aptitude test all looked like X+Y=peanut butter to me. I was mortified. 2. I instigated the womens lib group in high school. 3. I got married when I was only 18, a year after graduation. No we didnt have to. He was in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA, obviously headed to Nam. He ran with a bunch of bikers and when we got to Virginia after the wedding, waiting for me was a biker jacket with a patch that proclaimed Property of Stan. 4. We were on the motorcycle, going 75mph (legal at the time) and the front tire blew. I saw my life pass before my eyes. 5. I was catfished years before the term ever existed. 6. I was the Sioux City Secretary of the Year in 1979. 7. I want Kathy Bates to play me when they make a movie of my life. 8. I was sick a lot when I was a kid--asthma > bronchitis > pneumonia. Spent lots of time in oxygen tents, in oversized cribs with metal bars that felt like jail. I used to make pictures art for the nurses using either popsicle sticks or toothpicks. 9. My first vote was cast for George McGovern. Years later, when I interviewed with the Lt. Governor of the state of Iowa and I was asked my political affliation, I was able to lean forward, very intently, and answer I can say with pride that Nixon was not my fault.
