Okay, First Stage, Christmas Revival: accomplished! Got the fake tree - which I continue to be well pleased I went to - set up and strung with the LED lights I got from Costco as an experiment. Im ... agnostic about those. They dont seem as cheerful and shiny as Im used, at least from my American Tolkien recliner chair (where I basically live if Im not up and about or in bed.) But oddly, they look fine from back in the dining room. They are no-question a *huge* improvement over the two different sets of LEDs I tried last year - and promptly took back, as they were dim, dingy, and dispiriting. Which strikes me as exactly contrary to the spirit of the enterprise. These may ... grow on me, not unlike a fungus. Gonna leave em up until at least tomorrow to make a decision. At the moment, Im inclining toward shelling out the $30 or so to get two more strands - although as theyre currently distributed, just one more would complete the tree. But I think greater light density may well be called for. Of course, I could just buy one more set and see how they work....
