Okay. First the good news: We have TEN ninth-graders signed up to take Coming of Age this year. (Two somewhat unexpected additions popped up yesterday.) This is AWESOME, to be sure. It also means that we very likely need to recruit another mentor. So this status has two purposes: 1) To mine the institutional memory of the people who were involved in CoA the year BEFORE I came to North Parish--this would be last years Bridging class (Aidan OIsen, James and Sam McDaniel, the McFaddens, Jenna Careri, Paige Ahlholm, Forrest Lennhoff, Cam Bishop). Lorryn, I know you were a mentor, and I believe that Lynn was one of the coordinators..... do you happen to remember how many mentors you had that year? (Im trying to get a feel for what the youth-to-mentor ratio was the last time we had a similarly large group.) AND....... 2) To put out a call for CoA support! I am still looking for someone to co-coordinate the program with Kathy Slade, and it looks like we may need another mentor as well. If youre interested in helping out in either of those capacities, please let me know ASAP! (As a side note, this is a REALLY fantastic group of incoming ninth graders. Like, completely awesome youth.)
