“I like the freedom” “That’s the price of freedom” “Blah, blah, blah freedom” Listen to yourselves. What freedom? Training exercises over populated areas in the middle of the night without notice or explanation? Sounds like more governmental propaganda to me. This was a conditioning exercise. Getting people used to the idea that we should tolerate, ignore, and welcome military intrusion into our communities without any notice or explanation. This is not a characteristic of freedom. This is the action of a government that feels it has no responsibility to its citizens. Freedom has become a catch phrase. The Soviet Union called their system freedom. North Korea claims to be selling freedom. So did the Nazis. Everyone calls their form of control freedom. Take off those red white and blue blinders. Not everything our government does is in the name of “freedom.” Freedom IS living without having to look over your shoulder to see if your government is watching you as a animal in a cage or under a glass. Freedom IS living without having to worry about who your friends are, or who you talk to, what you own, and if it your conversations are considered appropriate by institutionalized standards. Freedom IS not living in fear of the government you support. It was tyranny that came with a cost, that gave us our FREEDOM. Freedom means not being imposed upon by a domineering force that limits your decisions. Freedom is the idea that the agents of control answer to the citizens rather than the citizens answering to their government. You people who would call this “freedom” need to raise your standards for the word. Freedom is a philosophy, not a bumper sticker that you just slap on any behavior so you can feel proud. If this is your criteria for freedom, then you are not a citizen, you are a subject.
